What is a Disability Support Worker?
Our Disability Support Workers help individuals with disabilities remain connected with their community and live the life they want. Being a Disability Support Worker at Empowering Connection Group is a pivotal role with a variety of tasks to support our clients, including:
Personal Care (e.g., help with dressing, showering, and grooming)
Light Domestic Duties (e.g., vacuuming, mopping, and laundry)
Prompting and Administration of Medication
Social support
Running Errands (e.g., grocery shopping, medication collection)
Assisted Transportation
Overnight Care
Specialist In-Home Care (e.g., dementia care)
Importantly, you will act as a vital link between Empowering Connection Group and our participants. You will work with our dedicated coordination teams to ensure our participants’ required care needs and goals are achieved.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will support individuals with disabilities to enhance their daily living skills, build their independence, and foster meaningful community connections. Your responsibilities will include personal care, light domestic duties, medication administration, social support, running errands, assisted transportation, overnight care, and specialist in-home care such as dementia care.

Most of your work will be based in Victor Harbor, with occasional travel to other locations across the Fleurieu Peninsula as needed. You will be working in various settings, including individual participants' homes, group homes, community settings, activity centers, and our central or head office.

To be eligible for the role, you must have the following or be willing to obtain:
1. NDIS Worker Screening Check
2. NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion
3. Current Driver's License
4. Working with Children's (WWC) Check

Empowering Connection works with a wide range of participants from a variety of backgrounds. The individual requirements of each participant may vary, however generally experience with mental health and/or experience working with people with disabilities is fantastic.
